About Terry
Everyone has a story, along with hopes and dreams. I deeply relate to strugglers and stragglers, especially academic underdogs whose learning journeys are challenging. My connection stems from my personal experiences and the labels I carried early on. People with labels often struggle to understand and process the information they receive about their potential, hopes, and dreams. A label shouldn’t define the whole person. IMO it doesn’t, its just one facet of a person, not the whole picture.
As an accomplished educational therapist, learning specialist, and academic coach, I am perfectly suited to assist with academic struggles. Been there, done that. I spent a great deal of time spinnng my academic wheels. I learned how to fail and flounder. I claim expert status in that category. But, I also learned how to persist, how to manage stress and how to master the process.
From ninth graders to pre-med candidates! I have worked with hundreds of clients whose ADHD, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem interupted their education, work flow, or life in general. Together, we made progress and they prospered.
I listen carefully to the stories my clients tell. With decades of training and experience, I understand how these stories intersect with the day-to-day demands of a neuro-atypical life. My work focuses on creating collaborations to improve performance. We implement strategies to address executive dysfunction, manage emotions, and improve planning. Doable, actionable homework relevant to your goals builds executive function skills, study techniques, and strategies that will last a lifetime.
